Silence is golden. In celebration of silent cinema, this book takes a closer look at the influence of silent cinema on the creepy clown movies loved today. Beginning in 1925 with the first creepy clown movie, He who gets slapped the book looks at popular movies through the years until the 2019 Joker movie.
The colour scheme for this project was chosen to pay homage to the historical use of red in early cinema production to create a sense of suspense. Additionally, red is widely recognised as the colour of clown noses or the iconic red balloon from “IT.”
